Social media plays a big role not only in the society it does also in the workplace, and enterprise. businesses uses social media as a new platform to expand their market, and as a way of advertising, other uses as their main source of employment, but social media is also way of work, developing, and sharing information. For any big or small organization being “social” is almost a necessity to be competitive and efficient o the current business environment.
“Social media is usually the best way of expressing oneself in such vast technological times. The most important and dominating being Facebook with over one billion users to date. Facebook is also a cultural phenomenon but that does not entail that it is completely safe or free from misuse. Rather more online threats occur do to its misuse, especially when concerned with teens or employees.” (Andrews)
But all this brings also new concerns about security, and privacy, business are more vulnerable in this day that everything is just a “click away” and almost everyone can get aces to everything this makes privacy a hot topic in every organization.
There are also new laws in different states like New Jersey, that have in mind to help and create new ways of helping businesses, and employees on this social media issues.
